PERA from the Latin petra=pietra, means stone. The name comes from the large landslide rock next to Hotel Rizzi. From Pera you can admire a breathtaking view over Cima Undici and Cima Dodici peaks (Vallacia), the woody entrance to San Nicolò Valley at east, while moving to wets, you will see in the distance, the steep crags of Sass de Pere da Fech (Flint Stone), which is 2144 metres hight. The old Church of Pera, San Lorenzo, was built at the beginning of the 17th century and features a wooden outdoor balcony for the choir. Pera today district of Pozza, that is one kilometer away. Pera has its historical importance, both from a tourist and mountaineering viewpoint. Su#ce to say that princes, kings and many other illustrious personages, such as Enrico Fermi, have stayed at Hotel Rizzi.
